Hey guys i just inherited a 1991 Cannondale Criterium frame any problems converting it to a SS ?

I believe you have cantilever verticle dropouts on that bike so you will likey need to get a chain tensioner, a White Industries ENO hub, or research on magic gear. If any of the above terms don't make sense. Search on the bolded phrases

Yep on those dropouts....i inherited the wheels also ( cassette intact ) Woblers, haven't had them checked out yet -- think it might be possible to make use of them too ?

well ive seen single speed bikes created by simply resizing the chain and removing the derailer

If you intend on using a cassette wheel, you first need to determine the rear cog you want to use in conjunction w/ the front chainring. This is easy since all of your gears should still be working and you can shift. Once you decide on gearing, you can check to see if it happens to be a magic gear. If not, you will need a chain tensioner which, from Performance and Nashbar, come with cassette spacers to let you use a single cog on your existing chainring.

It's simple, just put a chain tensioner on.
Or run a magic gear. You won't have as much a problem with chain stretch (I'm guessing) because a single-speed won't be subjected to the abuse that fixed riding places on the chain.

when you eventually want to tension your chain and/or change your gearing you can get an eno eccentric hub, or you can start with one.
