Jamis Aurora or a Surly Long Haul Trucker. Which one, I'm so confused

Ah, it doesn't matter? The're both good bikes. Test ride them and buy the one you like best.
If you can't test ride the LHT, well don't buy it. Buying any bike without a test ride is risky-- even if you know a lot about bikes.
Relax, do a few test rides and buy the bike you like best. Then never look back.

If you are loading up the bike and planning to start a tour tomorrow (or within a couple of months), go for the LHT. But from what you've posted in the past, the Aurora is probably a better fit for day to day commuting. The LHT is a great bike if you need to carry all the stuff you need to be comfortable for a weekend/week/month/years and the Aurora is not so good at that for various reasons. But the Aurora would be just fine for carrying lunch, clothes and assorted gear. It would even be okay for a weekend jaunt.
If you try touring and find you like it, get an LHT later. Most of us have more than one bike...I think they breed in garages:D

+1 excellent post, I would add one little thing. You can do lite touring on the Aurora. If it will take a rack, you can add a light rack, panniers, clothes, doodads.
It'll be 15-20 extra pounds, not a lot. It costs more to stay in motels and inns,
but it's also nice.

It's too short for my taste. I've tried loaded touring on a short wheel base bike and high speed downhills (something that's tough to avoid here) are frightening:eek:...and I don't scare easy;) Short bikes tend to be less comfortable for all day riding -with a load.
The Jamis will be a sporty ride and would do well for lots of riding from commuting to centuries but for loaded touring it's just not quite there, in my opinion.
