A friend that I ride with quite a bit, who ride a fuel 90, test rode a caffeine 29er for a day and said it really impressed him. Have a great time with it, it should be a solid bike for years!

Almost as enthralling as generic, static pictures of some bike leaning against a garage door.

But at least the garage door pics are better than the interior shots with the bike leaning up against a couch or chair in a really cluttered room...and usually zoomed in too close.

whats with the cannondale hate?

whats with the cannondale hate?

Their customer service is for ****. They build a great bike though. All the reviews I've read on this model have been 5 stars and I work security for OUPD and our officers use cannondales and put serious miles on them(granted they are mostly street miles). They work fine after years of use.

My LBS is really good though. They spend about an hour working with new bike owners setting the bikes up perfectly and going through everything to make sure the bikes in good working order. On top of that, they can fix just about any problem that comes about in house so I most likely wont have to ship anything to cannondales repair shop.

As far as ride goes, nothing beats the cannondales that I've tried. I tried fishers and Treks. They didnt even come close for my money.

On a down side, they don't have quite the selection that other brand do. And it always seems like there's a huge gap betwen the low end and the high end, no in between

I dunno. The caffeine 3 is kind of in between yet the same frame is used on 2000+ bikes so I'll be able to re-invent this bike to fill my needs for years to come because the base is so solid. That was the major selling point for me. On top of that, I can not find a better deal for 950.00 anywhere.

Did you get your bike from Buchanan's? I live in Norman and about bought a cannondale from them about a week ago... I decided that i'm gonna wait and ride out my rockhopper until the stumpjumper 29er 08 is released... But congrats on your new bike.... Go out and kick some ass at thunderbird... I was there 2 days ago... its pretty sandy and i got f'n poisonivy but other than that its nice... Goin out to draper this evening maybe... good luck to ya..

Yeah Buchanan's is where I got it. I wen't to Al's first and they just don't know what they are talking about. When I went to Buchanan's, I was overwhelmed with all the information I left with. That's what bike shop should be like imo.

I plan on doing draper mostly, for starters, but when I get a little more skilled, I'm going to be cruising to Turkey Mountain once a week. I've read that that place has the best riding for all levels in the state.

Poisin Ivy sucks. I had a friend in Louisiana that had gotten a vaccination when he was a kid and could rub poisin ivy all over his face and even chew on a piece and nothing would happen. But, they stopped giving out the vaccination for some reason. Prob side effects ko'd it or something.

Anyways, nice to meet another nomptonite on here. Maybe I'll see ya out on the trails sometime.

red Specialized rockhopper.. I'm mostly out at draper.. .Peace

I just placed an order for a Caffeine 3 and my price is $899. I ride road and don't know squat about mtn bikes. Are the wheels it comes with supposed to be any good? I believe they are Mavic MX117 or something like that.

I just bought a caffeine 3 too, first thing i did was pull of the c'dale junk brake levers and throw on some avid speed dial 7s with teflon cables that i coated in triflow, world of difference, and it was only 25 bucks. I just wish it had more travel on the shock (thas the next thing to happen to it, after my tires come in the mail that is) btw i got the blue one too, i'm lovin it so far

I may do the same thing, but Im going to wait a bit since I just shelled out a grand for the bike and can't afford it right off the bat. I'm getting some clipless shoes and a cheap camelback for starters. Later, Im going to see about getting a matching set of wheels with slicks so that I can easily switch them without adjusting anything when i want to ride on different surfaces.

The wheels are supposed to be pretty decent. I haven't read any complaints about them.
