I have been looking for a bike for my wife for riding in the park, on the canal trail, around the neighborhood, etc. She is 5'10" with long legs and a long torso. She wants to be upright when riding and wants a comfortable seat also. I looked at my LBS(s) and found a nice looking TREK 7200 womans 20" frame, which is the largest womans size TREK makes in that model. It would fit her perfectly I believe. Whats the consensus on the TREK 7200 and is it a good bike? Price is $380. Thanks.

exact price i paid for mine (mens of course) its only a 17 inch.. i like it.. it was lighter than the expiditions.. and i'm pretty happy with the purchase.. faster than a regular mountain bike yet still a bit more rugged than a road bike.. i've been pretty darn happy with my purchase so far! :)

I bought one for my son and it has been a great bike.

My wife owns a Trek hybrid and loves it. Well, she got the road bug and now has a road bike as well which has relagated the hybrid to the trails.

My wife has an '02 Trek 7100 and she loves it. The primary difference is that the 7200 has shocks, if I'm not mistaken (have to check Trek's website to be certain). A solid and relatively light bike (helluva lot lighter than mine!)

My wife recently purchased a Trek 7100 for the same reasons as the wife of Peddler. She is just a little over 5'8", she has the long legs, and maybe not so long torso but she wanted to ride in the upright position. However she went for the 17.5" frame. She didn't care to spend the extra dollars for the shocks. But generally I say it's still a good bike for what you need it for. Make sure that the 20" is the right fit, your wife may want to try a size smaller for comparison.

Only complaint my wife has is the choice of colors is so limited, only one color scheme is available. I know color shouldn't be a determing factor but it would be nice to have brighter colors availabe and have a choice. Hmm....think more bikes would be sold if there was a color choice with flashier colors and schemes? What a concept!!!
