was that you, Dr. WJ O'donnell, with the helmet cam this morning? It was a Westwood Velo rider. If so are you going to post the video anywhere?

Yeah, that was me. The video is shaky. It was my first attempt. I hope to have something posted later. There won't be much I don't think, the race wasn't TOO exciting, but I will be sure to include the two crashes I saw.

Well, the video can be found here for now. (http://www.westwoodvelo.com/showthread.php?t=2200) I don't like that the quality is much lower than the version I uploaded, but it gives an idea.

I can't get enough of these videos. Nice job. What video editor/cam did you use?

As far as I can tell, he was in the break that had just been chased down. As he was returning to the pack he was looking back (for teammates?? Status of the pack??) and he drifted into the curb. I really hope he is ok. This was the one year anniversary of my crash at the same venue.
Equipment was the ATK-2c or something from Oregon Scientific. I used windows movie maker for editing. I am going to look into a Youtube account and see if I can upload at better quality.
Thanks for the comments.

Can't view the vid at work, but will look tonight. Do you run the ATC2k on your helmet or bike mounted? I've got one and will probably try it helmet mounted at this weekend's race at the Nakayama Circuit MotoGP course.

I did it helmet mount. I might try bike mount for a TT (though a TT just might be extremely boring). I am going to put it on a more snug helmet next time to see if I can ease the jitters a bit.

I've raced on that course about 20 times. I'm trying to wrap my head around how some idiot solo's into the curb and does a friggin endo, but it's not happening. Thanks for the video Doc. Brings back some cool racing memories. Including one of the most catastrophic crash that JUST missed my back wheel screaming down that last hill before the finish line (at the end of the race as everyone jammed for the bottleneck) @ 40+ mph. They carted a couple of those poor dudes off to the hospital that day.
The other odd thing about PP races were the times when EVERY lap up that little hill the pungent smell of ganga was enough to give the peloton a contact high. Not for nothing, but sometimes on that course you hit that hill @ 24mph and you already feel like getting off your bike. That made half the pack want to get off their bike and do bongs including me, and I haven't smoked pot since about 1980.
Great job WJ!
Awesome seeing you bridge back up then to see that crash.
Looking forward to seeing some more!

Equipment malfunction? Once at the track a guys stem came loose and he went flying into the apron/infield at 25mph as people dove out of the way. He ended up hitting a trainer and endoing into the grass (and didn't get hurt fortunately).
