suck really bad. I have unsealed for my BB and they are shot. I'm taking my bike into the shop on Monday to get new bearings and everything that has to be done. Right now mine creak and I can feel them "jump" when I pedal slowly. When I changed my sprocket before three of the balls fell out of the cage.

That's why you get sealed BB's and such.

That's what they're putting in. I'll never get unsealed again.

the only thing they do is make crank flips really easy with them finger tight on a 1 peice

They were talking about just getting a new spindle. Which is easier, but more expensive. How much should everything cost with new sealed bearings, cups, and spindle?

No clue, I got the bearings and cups for free, but one side of my spindle didn't fit so I tossed it on the lathe at work.

Unsealed bearings aren't as bad as people think they are. They just need a little more attention.

Not to say that i wouldn't avoid them if i could, but they aren't that bad.

Where I worked at the time? At a steel/machine shop?

Well, I took my bike to the shop today. They're going to put new unsealed bearings in because the guy said I would have to get a new spindle and crank arms. He's also putting a spider on with a new chainring because my sprocket is bent. I would've just gotten another regular sprocket, but the shop only orders no-name off-brand stuff that I've never seen before.

^ that's pretty much it. You have to stay on top of greasing unsealed BBs.

If you have trouble keeping the individual ball bearings inside the cups, put some Phil Wood or other thick grease in there, it's thick enough to hold them in, and it's great grease.

Man i sound like a sales rep or something.
