Am I in the right forum? Anyway, I'm curious to see who rides around here.

I am over a ways in River Falls. I make it to Chippewa once or twice a summer to ride. Usually the Leinies Century on Memorial weekend to get the summer started.

I live and ride in EC.
I don't ride a whole lot during the week.
Lawn care takes most of my energy.

I ride a red 2007 Giant OCR2 with urban biking shorts, seat pack and two propel bottles filled with tap water.
Feel free to stop me if you see me. :)

Oh, I will. I'm either on a piece of **** Huffy Omni-10 (blue!) wearing whatever (sometimes I'll be in my wallyworld Red or Grey top and black bike shorts.) or my Peugeot ATB (Black)

Someday I'll find a decent frame and build myself a worth road bike, but for now I enjoy passing people with my ATB that's equipped with fat, heavy cruiser tires. Heh. Still working on getting up the state st. hill without walking :(

By the way I have crazy long blonde hair and a beard if that helps :P

OK, I know this thread is crazy old. But I just wanted to chime in and say I'm from Eau Claire as well. I've been riding to work daily now that the weather is nice. I'm also planning on a doing the triathalon coming up in June. I also have a red Giant, its a mountain bike though. I want to get some nice road slicks on it and a nice cateye computer as well. Anyone else from EC? I'm always looking for people to ride with.

And can you tell me what it is like? Like is it a hilly course, good rest stops. is it worth a 3 hour dirve to get there? I have not been on any rides in that part of the state, and I am thinking of making it this weekend.

Curious

I have ridden it a few times, my take on it. Scenic and rural. Leaves from Irvine Park in Chippewa Falls. Not very hilly, it has some but nothing that is what I would call challenging. Rest stops are manned by a boy scout troop members and if you like pb&j sandwiches, you'll like the rest stops. I have ridden in cold and wet, hot and windy, and everthing in between. The best part is the lunch at the end. If you like beer, the Leinenkugel taps flow in a few flavors. Turkey brats, and pop for the non-alcohol drinkers. If the weather is good, I have heard the ride gets close to a thousand riders, and in bad weather a few hundred hearty souls still make it out. This was the ride I did my first century on, so I am biased. It is a good ride in my opinion.
