Yo, I have been doing street for about 2 years. I am a small rider so I ride 18 inch bikes. I just finished off my blackeye 18 inch. I was wondering if the DK franklin is a good street bike? 18 inch of course.
says it has 14mm axels. 4130 chromoly frame, Driving Force detangler, DK 2-pc bars, 140mm 3-pc tubular chromoly cranks with American BB, DK Trail stem, alloy platform pedals, 33T DK Iron Cross chainwheel,Weinmann rims, 36H alloy hubs with 14T freewheel and 14mm axles, 18" Duro Fantasy tires, Tektro lever, Tektro 907 U-brake, DK Junior Dirt Jump seat, DK Vise grips, 2 DK Bundy pegs. 18" Toptube. (27 lbs)$249.99
Does that sound like a decent buy for a street bike? I like it comes with a freewheel I have been biking without 1 and I must say rolling out is a tad harder. What do you guys think? I think its a good bike.

how tall are you and why do you like 18" bikes?

im like 5 foot 2 and weigh about 130ish. i like 18 inch bikes because for me they are easier to throw around and I find 20 inch bikes just harder to bike on all around because they feel more (bulky) I feel more comfortable on an 18 and I can j-hop higher and since it is smaller it is easier to spin the bike 180/360...

you should start learning to ride a 20" in probably a year or less you will be too big for an 18" and you will sit on a 20" with no idea how to ride it. start learning now.

aye i know where your coming from, but im 17 so i dont think im going to grow much more. IF you could pick 1 of those 18" bikes what 1 would it be, i think the DK... NOW.... If iwas to get a 20 inch bike what would you suggest, im thinking something around 25 pounds no more than 30 mabye with a freecoaster on it /freewheel any ideas?

if i had to, i would probably say the dk. not many bikes come stock with a freecoaster but depending on your price limit your best bet would be a fit flow street or a khe.

you do know the fit flow street is like $650.00 and I can not find a khe on danscomp

Get a 20 inch bike. You won't get a 25 pound bike unless it is custom. A DK Six Pack or Stolen Wrap would be good.

I like that dk 6 pack, although it looks like it might be kind of heavy for me... any other suggestions? i want to get something that is close to compare with an 18 inch weight wise/frame. like a 20 inch toptube/frame not a 20.75. something comfortable

That's his signature. If you noticed, it says that at the bottom of all of his posts. So he didn't say you weren't a guy.

just look at the brands you like or whatever and there should be a quite of few plain ol flat 20"
How old are you?
He is 17. He said so in an earlier post.
And of course, amped could get a 20" flatland bike. It would have a shorter TT, but still 20" wheels. Of course it wouldn't be all that heavy-duty...but if he only weighs 130 lbs, he shouldn't be smashing to pieces.
