Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Owners of both R.E.Load and Timbuk2 bags

How do they compare size wise? Both companies measure differently (Exterior vs interior) and I have had difficulty differentiating size based on their online measurements. I currently have a large timbuk2 and need a bag for smaller loads and was looking at the small civilian,

hey i live in roxbury too. i work with a freight backpack and if you needed a big bag i would suggest that but you didn't ask about that. the chrome and timbuk2 bags imo are total trash, i cant stand the sight of either of them. the reloads are really nice and the reload civilian is pretty big for a "small" bag. also look at Bailey works their bags are great, i had one until i got my freight.

RE load over timbuk anyday.
I can only use backpacks and I do not know what timbuk was thinking with some of their bags, the straps are way too short and they dont hold nearly enough

I rode with a Timbuk for two years and hated every moment of it. I borrowed a chrome for awhile and used it until I bought a Freight last month. It's the last bag I hope to buy (seriously). I'd def. recommend a Freight. But, if you're only looking between a Timbuk and a R.E. Load, go with R.E. Load.

Good look on the reply. I am in no way wedded to any brand. I simply mentioned the reload because i have heard good things regarding the quality/looks combination. I checked online for Freight but didnt find anything.

BTW, doesn't riding in "the Berry" suck?!?! lol

In all likelyhood this'll be a bit out of the desired price range, but I have a pac designs bag and man, I love it. They're build like tanks, and the strap system is at least fifty times better/more comfortable/more useful than a timbuk 2 bag.

I took my bag on a month long tour of ireland (mostly to have my camera at the ready) by bike, and then I took it to thailand (sans bike) where I lived out of it for a month. Excellent bags. The website is www.pacdesigns.com

If you can afford it, they're most def worth it. (I have a deluxe) My biggest thing was the size. Compared to a chrome bag of simlar CI the pac bag's expand out more whereas a chrome bag is longer. I've got a bunch of pics I took to really detail the size of the pac bags. I should post them someday. I like the size though. Fits a lot, but isn't massive.

I have a Reload bag. It's rad. I think it's a civilian. It fits enough stuff and is pretty comfortable while riding. It's really uncomfortable when walking. I've worn it on centuries with a good amount of gear in it and the only complaint i had was the sweat spots. No problem with my shoulders or arms.
I've had it about 2 years and i think if i washed it, it would look mostly like new.
