190,000 AK-47s missing (http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,,2142774,00.html)

Does that remind anyone else of the movie Lord of War (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0399295/)?

Ha! They've all been shipped back stateside as souvenirs.

This really is P&R fodder tho.

There is nothing inherently political about it, nor do I want to start any sort of debate over it. I just thought it was kinda scary/funny.

Hummmmm... Weapons, Iraq, USofA, insurgents.

Hey you're right, not political at all.

I'm sorry, carry on. :)

bleh I tried pretty hard to have it be a benign topic. I even used a foreign news source to ensure a minimum of bias.

In the world of AK's, it's really not much. The black market has so many it's sick. Those things float around the middle east like used hockey equipment in the US. It does piss me off though, because our tax dollars paid for them, the Government won't allow those who obey the law here to have them, and then they go and piss them away like the 9 billion dollars that were "lost".

And yep, I have confidence many have found their way back to the US through smuggling.
