Hello All,

36v kit without batteries probably going for around $240 shipped from Canada. Can't find any info at all about these kits on the web. Found some info about their gas motor kits, but not the electric. Anyone know anything about them?

skyhawkcanada dot com seems down, but google cache still has this:

About us: We are a son-and-father run import and retail business located in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. We are the sole dealer for these moped conversion kits in Western Canada, we buy direct from the factory and sell them out of a garage. I started with just the gasoline kits last June (2005) after building a few of my own. Now we're moving towards the more eco-friendly (and more often street legal) electric hub kits so I brought my dad in to help out. We are always welcome to dealer inquirys, or requests for customer referrals so please give us an e-mail!

Apparently they're designed by Grubeeinc.com, designed in American, but built in China to USA standards. The owner's an American living in China with a Chinese wife, they've built a nice business and have best of both worlds, an in into Chinese way of life and business, and his ability to go back and forth to the US for business. From what I can tell by his communication with me he's a straightforward businessman trying to put out a good product.

I was going to buy a goldenmotor, but it looks like I can get a 48v 500 watt 30+mph screamer from Skyhawk (a Grubee distributor) for a little over $200 on Ebay. There seems to be great feedback on Ebay about them, so at least that's a good sign.

ps here's a page I found describing Grubee's models, let me know what you guys think before I order one
