Fifty Plus (50+) - What a Weekend!

For the last two months, there have been about 5 women who have started riding their bikes with me, started out riding 10-12 miles on flat and have just continued to go further and started including some climbing. Sat, we went out for our morning ride, I leave a pickup at the restaurant about 20 miles away that we've eaten breakfast at a couple times, so we ate breakfast, and I said I was going to finish the loop which is another 8 miles with one more 2 mile climb. All but 2 said they wanted to finish the loop also, so we did and they were all so amazed and pleased with themselves that they had done it and felt very good yet. It was a big WhooHoo!!
Then I got home, and my 4 sisters were putting together a trip for us all to go watch a couple days of the Tour de California. Life is just good!!

Well done on getting the distance up and taking in the Extra- let alone a climb aswell. At this rate- Extra pie is on the cards so don't forget the camera next time.

Great story. While I ride alone, I've seen groups of women riding long distances and they always seem to be having a great time. I think there is something to how a close group can pull people up to accomplishments that they might have never achieved alone.

Now that you mention it, JT, this thread is a bit tame compared to what a thread of the same title would likely be if it were in a 20-somethings forum.
