I have an S&S coupled bike and a hard-case bike box that (with a great deal of effort) I can get the uncoupled bike into. Up to now, I have either flown with the bike and box to a starting point and then returned to that same point for the trip home or I have had my wife fly with the box to my ending point.
I am considering a one-way trip where neither of these two options is available. As such, I was wondering if anyone with a hard case for an S&S coupled bike has ever shipped the (empty) bike box from the starting point to the ending point. If so, did you use UPS/FedEx? Was it expensive? Is there any advice you have for me?
Thanks,
Ray
