I just replaced my rear tire a few weeks ago with a new one because my 2 week old one before that go a gash right on the slick. I am using a Continental Ultra 2000 i usually use the 3000 but they were out of them. Anyway, i got a blowout last week and a cut in the side of the tire, and now the tube is visible there. I really want to get some more use out of this tire. What can i patch it with, and how can i make it stick there while i am mounting the tire back on. I tried a few things, cardboard, plastic, etc. Any help is appreciated.

I know parktools makes a tire boot, that should do the job.

Tire boots are available or you can use a piece of inner tube.

The tire boot should do the job, but is usually meant for "emergencies" to get you off the trail or home. I wouldn't plan on a whole lot more use out of the tire, expecially with the high pressures of a road tire. If you do go riding with it more, be prepared for a flat. I would buy a new tire.
