...if you were moving to a distant land, and you didn't know much about it, and you were gonna haul along a singlespeed/fixed flipped and flopped bicycle, would you go 700c or 26"? i ride both, but will only bring one. i'm thinking of moving to korea. i'm thinking the 26"ers might make getting replacement tubes/tires easier, but i'm thinking of doing marathon plus or supremes either way, so it'll likely be a moot point.

anyone got an opinion? 26" might be nice if i wanna roll off-road, too.

Depending on where you live in Korea, you won't have a problem getting road tubes and tires but if you live in a small city you may have to mail order them. However getting an MTB here is a great idea because there are tons of trails and you will have a much easier time finding riding buddies since its really the only type of cycling that is popular here. Before I come back for my second year, I'm going to pick up a cyclocross bike so I can have the best of both worlds.

P.S. If you have any questions about living here, PM me.

ah, but i won't be touring. i'll be tooling around the city on a fixed geared bike. short jaunts to the bar or work or the park or whatever they call such things in s. korea. if i post this sort of thing in the touring forum, they'll surely direct me here...
