Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - I've got a project idea for a Clyde with Mad Computer Skills!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Set up a Database of Clyde Bike issues, maintenance and specs.
You can pull a lot of info out of the Clyde forum here. Make it a searchable database.....it's a potential business for ya with ad support and such available! Just an idea that I don't have time for!

Shills I don't have, but skills I am overflowing with. :p
Is this a project you would like to be involved in, or is this just a "this would be a great idea and I would love if someone else did it" kind of thing?

It's one of those great ideas that I just don't have time to do, although I'd be glad to help where I can....
Thanks for the catch on my typo, by the way, I fixed it! (One of those things about this blue star I love! I can actually fix it when I screw up a title!:p)
PS: Strictly a spare time kind of thing, a service for our Brother Clyde's and Sister Athena's!
I'm not the greatest at databases, but I know how to skin/style a content management system. Would love to work with someone on this.

I have the infrastructure at home to support this as I run a FreeBSD/Linux server farm and I could install a content management system. But I am not good at adding content :)

I've never done anything quite like this, but I like computers and programming and such, so if a team were to get together, I would more than willing to help out.

Tom; sounds like a kickass idea! I am a PHP dev, and I think we could setup something like this fairly easily. Do you use AIM/MSN/etc/etc/etc? (same w/ becky, etc)

Ok, well.
A couple of nights ago I started laying out docs for something like this. I went through all of the sites I could find for bike utilities, and the software like cyclistats...
I'm trying to compile a list of features/etc to have in one...
If others are interested, we should get this going. I can setup a bugzilla/cvs for it, I have all the free hosting I want (dedicated server, perks of being a web dev :) ) and time to work on it. What i dont have is any sense of design skill. :)
Hmm... :)
VTRoadie I just sent you a PM with my contact info. I'm mainly a designer, but have a basic understanding of php/mysql.

I am not much of a programmer but I am a pretty decent server admin and I am willing to donate the server space if needed.
Shoot me a message at pmowery ][at][ okihost.com or via PM if interested. I run basic Linux boxes with mySQL etc and can also install any scripts you guys may need just am not good at the programming backend of things though I would imagine it would be an easy thing to do.
One thing I did do was setup a 'Total Weight Loss' calendar at a forum I run www.chubhut.com the people signup and enter the amount of weight they have lost in the profile area, it then updates the main 'Total Weight Lost' page at the link below right away. We would just need a way to do it without needing a forum along with it.
http://www.chubhut.com/view.php?pg=totalweight <--- Is where it gets updated.

I have no technical skills whatsoever but I'm a business analyst (dealing/trading software) so I'd be glad to help with any design/layout/specs etc. Might not be necessary but let me know if I can help at all.

I don't have the skills or the time. Hey, Tom... while these guys are workin' on this project, maybe we should go ride our bikes?

I can do databases, just need to find someone with Mysql or Firebird available online or willing to put them online, and a compatible CSM.
