These forums look great!!! I am glad I found them.
I am a guy from Dallas... I ride around Whiterock and up and down the creek trail several times a week. Most of you who do that route have passed me I imagine. ;) But feel free to bask in my 15mph draft. :p
Like every kid... I used to ride my bike - an Orange Schwinn - (a lead/kryptonite/uranium alloy frame I think... it weighed about as much as me) and I loved it... lived for it. Then I got a drivers licence, a libido, college, a job, wife... until one day I decided maybe I would like to try mountain biking. I bought a cheap Nishiki Manitoba, and quite enjoyed it for a few years. But as I rode it more and more it was less on trails and more on the road. I began to realize that those rodies with their twinky pants and jersies - that it was my honor bound duty as a MTN Biker to scorn (not really) were actually... my people!!!
So I just bought a secondhand 2002 Specialized Allez Elite (the yellow one) that had been given a few gear upgrades (some carbon, and Ultegra in various places instead of 105) and rode it till my butt felt like it was one of the Hussein boys and so...
I even bought some twinky pants!
