Dried apricots and dates are my favourites. Prunes, dried cranberries and sultanas are good too!

Sun Maid Fruit Bits are varied dried fruits cut into pieces about the size of raisins. A great snack and great to carry along on your ride.

Pineapple is my favorite, although I haven't seen mango or kiwi. I wonder if those are available?

the cherries are great, but can be kind of pricey at times
Yep, dried mango is available, and is delicious. I get it from Trader Joes.

Is Trader Joe on online service or a local shop?

Trader Joe's is a large national chain (USA). They have excellent deals, because they negotiate with various companies to market their products as "Trader Joe's" brand, and also sell name brand items that they find deals on. Their nuts and dried fruit selection is great, not to mention quality wines for $3-5!!

i first saw one in orange county california when i was visiting a friend. and thought they were just in CA. but they recently opened atleast one store in the philadelphia area. i find them to be a bit like the whole food stores like fresh fields, but less pricey, if thats any help. but maybe you can find one in your area on there web site.
I never cared much for cherries, but I love dried peaches, pears and apricots. I also like prunes on occasion but we all know you can't eat too much of those! However, they have a lot of iron.

why not a lot of prunes?
I though I would put in a plug for dried figs since they haven't been mentioned yet. Also I've noticed some good deals lately on fresh cherries as they seem to be in season now.
