Don't forget, the Utah Lake Century Epic Ride is this weekend. Is anyone besides me going? This is my first organized century and I'm totally stoked. Always wanted to, but never ever rode in an organized anything. There's a late charge, but you can still register if you haven't already, and all the proceeds go to the National Kidney Foundation, I believe. But I'm no one official so don't quote me. I'm just excited for the ride.
Watch for me. White jersey. Ugly orange Raleigh. Probably somewhere near the back.

I'm going to pick up my packet at REI tomorrow. I'll watch for ya. I don't know what I'll be wearing but I'll be riding a black carbon Giant and have my white and red Giro helmet.

uh...tomorrow? I hope you mean wednesday, at least that's what is posted on the website.
Anyway. I'll watch for you. I wonder how many bikes will be there. I hope it's a good turnout.

Crap. I'm a day ahead. :D Yeah, I meant Wednesday. I was at REI today stocking up on GU and spare tubes and for some reason, thought to myself, "I'll be back here tomorrow."
Hope to see ya there.

I'll be there. Not sure which jersey but I'm on the Allez with the checkerboard bar tape. :-)

Good luck, Aloyzius! If you've been training on the old Schwinn Traveler, you should fairly fly on your nice bike! :)

heh.
Well being a century, it was more like I flew, then I dragged, then I flew, then dragged some more. Then I started hallucinating, and talking to myself, and swerving all over the road. And then it was over, and I was sunburnt and my ass was sore.
I Can't wait for the next one.
Was a good time. Would have had a better time if I hadn't dropped a water bottle twice, helped a gal out with a flat, took too long at the lunch break. Overall it was pretty fun. How about that tail wind on the west side of the lake? I was thinking, this is what the pros must feel like all of the time. :)

Oh, heck yeah. Flying along at about 28 m.p.h. with very little effort, after riding seventy plus miles??? AWESOME!! Boy, all I could think was, I'm glad they didn't have us go the other way around the lake. I never would have made it!!!
Speaking of the tour. I also thought to myself how tough those guys must be. To ride that length day after day. I don't know how they do it. Just the chaffing and the saddle sores they must have to put up with. Not to mention the sheer endurance and determination. It just kind of put things in more of a perspective for me, I guess.
