Foo - What is it with a beagle?

I'm housesitting a bad beagle, hyper shepard puppy (aka small pony - puppy ... my foot!) and another dog who hates the shepard, amongst other assorted caged animals.

Beagle lives and craves for nothing more than food. And in between it bugles, brays, or whateverhellyoucallit.

Good grief.

Why a beagle?

Yeah, and he howls too! That's the hound dog in him. And then he will catch a scent, start sniffing, and wandering around following the scent until he winds up in Ecuador, and you have to find him.

I still love beagles. They have cool personalities. And for a smaller (relatively) dog they are quite intelligent. Unlike those awful Jack whatever yapping butt hole dogs. Like, everyone saw one on Frasier and ran out and got one, not realizing it would be a stupid dog that never stops barking, and doesn't stay trained with anything for more than a week.

I just now got the "good grief" bit.

I got a coon hound from the vet's office as a puppy. Someone left him there. Besides the howling, he was constantly hungry. They are so motivated by food. As long as I had treats, that dog was in my control. If he knew I didn't have food, he was miles away. Whatever scent he found, he tracked it.

She's laying on the top of their couch (hoping to be out of malling sight of the shepard) and is braying at anything moving in the street.

Can we say ... KENNEL TIME!!!!

Oy. I'm out and about now looking for another house and sincerely hope we don't run into this. I mean I've met lots of well behaved dogs (just spent the weekend at a campsite with 5 people and two big rotts and it was very fine) - including beagles but this one just "takes the cake".

And yes I know, it's the owner and not the dog. But boy oh boy this dog is a test.

14 days started, 3 more to go until I can actually sleep in me own bed .... ahhhh.

:lol: exactly! They are just soooo excitable. Does it ever stop as they get older?! I sure hope so before the neighbors file a complaint on me :rolleyes:
