Sweet!
How much did that set you back? Have you gotten anything to smoke with it? Maybe with lenses?

It needs a lens to ignite a match. I tried it with a black sharpie dot on it, but just smoke, darn. I got it off Novalasers.com for 150with shipping. Pretty cool too.

I use one for astronomy. I mount it on my telescope and use it as a kind of finder scope.
Once you have it lined up correctly it makes it a whole lot easier to point the scope to a specific point in the sky.
Not the brand I have but some of these are crazy powerful.

To play Star Wars in full costume, duh.....
^^^^
When those things first came out I went to a star party (gathering of geeks and telescopes in a dark field) and the funniest thing I had seen in months were two men in their seventies battling with their new toys, with both making the "vvvvzzzsssttt--pzzit!" sound effects.

I do the same thing. Invariably someone will ask where in the sky is the scope specifically pointed at and all I have to do is flip it on.
I think wicked is a bit overpriced. Not to mention it's known for having lasers being DOA. My wicked 15mw only lasted about 2 months before being defected, whew.

How many pilots did you disorient, EJC123? Remember, VV has to fly into your airspace if she's gonna have a layover in the greater DFW area. If you're randomly shootin' that thang into the sky, I may just go through Denver, or Phoenix, on my way to my VV WestCoast Tour, and bypass TX altogether, for safety's sake. That's fine if you don't want to meet me. But maybe some of the other Texans will start to dislike you a bit for your wanton use of your "power" tool....
Is the beam normally visible under clear conditions? I figured if I were to really play around with something like that, I wouldn't want a laser line pointing out where I am...

The only time one would be able to view the location would be when it's dusk, night, dawn, or inside with limited sunlight. You can see it well with incandescent light especially. Why, you thinking of getting one?;)

Yikes, it just became out of stock.
For 30 dollars more, you could have this:http://www.novalasers.com/NOVAstore/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=3&idproduct=86 the X85.
The thing I like about Nova (other than the great prices) is that they usually ship the laser with a higher output than listed. I ordered an X65, and they hand test them before shipping, and mine registered at 88.3 mW peak/83.8 mW average. Definitely a plus! I just wonder what the 85mW would come at-90 or 100 something probably, heh. The company is out of Toronto and not China like most places. Warp5 I believe is a 5% off code. Anyways, it's great!
