Foo - grrr rant

as some of you know i got rushed back to alabama from oklahoma against my will. and my bike got left in ok. Well, after only 3 weeks I finally got my now ex girlfriend to drop my bike off at the bike shop I used to work at. they are going to charge me 80 bucks to ship my bike to me. but on the positive note they are only charging me cost for a new bottom bracket.

The other thing that irks me is, she can afford to go out to drink and go to the coffee shop and buy cigs, but i have to wait till she has money to get my messenger bag and my camera shipped to me. WTF!?
I hate dealing with people at this point. bed enough my mom and grand mother have me on house arrest. I am 24 have been living alone more or less since I moved out at 18 and I am really not used to this sort of thing. my grandmother is a former school teacher and lectures me over every small thing, i got called from the far side of the house and lectured over leaving a light on yesterday.



on the last positive note. my mom agreed to let me out by myself once again i get my bicycle back
to bad i still can't drive for a year from the date of the last seizure

Have her drop off the bag and camera with the bike and have the shop pack them with the bike. Make sure you call the shop ahead of time so they know that you know it's supposed to be with the bike.

Huntsville is getting pretty big. It's kinda scary in a way. There's plenty of good places to ride. I wouldn't mind trying to do a 71 mile ride down to B'ham, but I'd have to plan for it, since most rides like that have rest stops to refuel.

71 miles isnt so scary, and refueling is what restaurants and road side fruit stands are for,well that and a chance to flirt with the waitress

i went to college in hunstville for a semester.

It's more the lack thereof when it comes to back country highways. Of course, I've never been touring, onl ridden centuries, so I don't really know.

i have done both, i prefer touring, it is a lot more relaxed. i get to take in the scenery and take pictures and choose any route i want. look at my tour here http://stupidhurts.org/tour-de-stupidity/
if you havent already. it leaves out more detail than i like but basically i had a blast doing it


when i do centuries they tend to be with the guys i refer to as the dogs of war (see below). and they always turn into races

When I rode my first century, I was basically told it was treated as a race by the racers. I figured it was just a ride. Who would race over 100 miles that wasn't declared a race? Well, I ended up riding the whole century with the racers. This was when I had my 105 level aluminum bike that weighed in about 23 - 25 lbs with the big heavy triple it came with, and I was passing "racers" on their carbon bikes, because I was just trying to keep up with my friend who was then my boss and owner of the LBS I worked for. I've never done a race in my life, and here I was doing attacks on Pro 1/2 people just keeping up with my friends. I still don't understand why they thought this was a race in any way. For me it was just a nice ride and my first century.

We'll have to ride sometime. I've got a nice light aluminum cross frame in the garage if it ever comes down to a loaded tour. The pictures from yours seem more like a backpack type tour and the way I would like to do one. I have a little one-person backpacking tent that I love. I think it's a Eureka.

that was a back pack tour, basically i was moving home. i never went back to florida after that.
if we ever ride together i will have to tell you the back story behind that, it is not the sorta thing i tell online but it is a hilarious story and it involves buying a plane ticket from a bartender in a bar. and sleeping in hippie commune.
