Start paying attention to Empire, Albe's or Dan's.
When they list it for sale, it's for sale. Until then, it's not.

If I were to get custom parts, is it nesscessary for a bike shop to put it together?

wethepeople
08-08-07, 01:55 AM
If you have to ask that question, then yes, Yes it is.

Also, DAMN YOU KINK FOR NOT MAKING THAT FRAME IN 20.2!

fuzzbox
08-08-07, 01:59 AM
The only reason I asked is because my friend wanted to put his together himself, when he bought a bike, but they said that they can't have him do it, and that they are supposed to.

What's so special about 20.2?

wethepeople
08-08-07, 02:01 AM
That was most likely a liability if he bought it from a shop, but as long as you have some basic mechanical inclination then you can put a BMX together even with limited tools.

20.2 is the size of top tube I want to get.

RollinBmx

That looks like a nice frame.

Probably, but I got thrown off when he said words about the state and the law, or something along the lines of that.

That could be anyone, but most of the time noobs start threads and not randomly say something like him.

It's him, Gunz will do a IP check in the morning and let us know for sure.

Speaking of customs, what forks are good?

wethepeople
08-08-07, 02:35 AM
Odyssey, Sunday!, S&M.

I'm running the old Sundays and like them quite a bit. Slight amount heavier then some forks but worth it.

Okay so I know that 20" is 20" but the 20.2",why? If I'm not mistaken 20.5" would be 20 1/2 inches. Concluding that 20.2 is slightly smaller and there's barely a difference.

Go ride a 2.2 and then ride a 20.5 and you'll notice a difference...

Word. A 20.2 with a stem with a standard reach feels perfect, as well as a 20.5 frame with a short-reach stem. Anything other than those combinations feels very uncomfortable for me.

fuzzbox

I've only ridden a 18" other than my 20", if I could I would try it.

By the way, are WTP helium bar and fork any good?

I have a question. What are the upsides of customizing a wheel, because I want to save some cash and go with some generic complete.

wethepeople
08-10-07, 08:14 PM
You mean choosing the hoop, spokes and hub? You get the exact wheel you want, and you have a handbuilt wheel.

Damn, I was like, positive you were one of those girls with white streaks in her hair who wears chains and crap, and has too many tattoos and piercings. Not entirely sure why.. probably the whole snakeskin tires and seat fetish thing.

Haha but too bad it just looks cool and its not a fetish.

Plaid with ridiculous colors > snakeskin.

Although I'm wondering just how beautifully ugly a bike could be with a mix of those...

Plaid with ridiculous colors > snakeskin.

Depending on how ridiculous, yes.
