"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - Anybody else see the ESPN special on Lance last night?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

If you did, you saw what drives him.
I thought ESPN only showed baseball games, highlights, and baseball tonight - then over and over again.

Eh. As if a couple of TV writers and a sports columnist are qualified to psychoanalyze somebody in the course of a 25-minute cable TV show.
"He wants to be the man the other men in his life never were." Yeah, OK.
Thank God nobody feels the need to describe *my* entire life in one sentence.

"SportsCentury Presents: Lance Armstrong" premiered on ESPN Classic around the start of The Tour. I was disappointed that it was only half an hour long. Most of their shows are an hour, but this is the first time they've done a cyclist (unless I missed the Greg LeMond show or something). Even so, it was interesting to watch. I do wish they got into more details about his early career and accomplishments, his fight against cancer, his training methods, and his maturity during his reign in the yellow jersey (basically everything:p).
I wanted to see more- I was surprised it was only half an hour. :(
I would like to see them feature cyclists more in general, not just Lance. They could really capitalize on the Tour and feature the past winners in an hour long special at least a couple of times a week! Plus, do some talking about the war, and how when WW2 ended, there were hardly any riders left, since so many were killed... I found that to be fascinating- I hadn't thought about that aspect of the Tour at all.
Maybe when they see the success of OLN, they'll start taking cycling a bit more seriously.
I can't believe I missed this! :(
Does anyone know if they are going to replay this and when?

Yeah I thought 30 mins didn't do it justice either.

I posted those times and they are in the eastern time zone.:)
I think the C stands for ESPN Classic.:)
Can you tell me which time zone you're referring to?
I tried to tape it, but then I got a phone call, and I ended up missing some of it. :(

Click on the "[Quote]" at the bottom of the post you want to quote from during a reply instead of using the "Quick Reply" box.
Whoops... I didn't even properly read the post that had the time zone posted by gojohnnygo.
Doh!
I'm glad there isn't so much cycling coverage on TV....I like reading books and magazines better. I think race coverage is a good thing though.
