Are there any suggestions out there for a 8 - 10 ounce road helmet out there? Is there any proof that a very light helmet will bring my average speed from 20 mph to 25 mph? J/K

The Giro pneumo is 10 ounces. I own the Selev Alien and it is only 8 ounces. It depends on what you really want. You might want to buy the Giro pneumo because it looks too darn cool and don't mind the 2 ounces. I am not sure about which helmet is better for cooling because I only have one helmet. It all depends ultimately on you, don't put weight as the main issue though.
Also, I don't think it increases your speed by that much, maybe only a 1mph increase, and I mean 1 metre per hour.
If it was 1mile per hhour I would go buy a 8 ounce one right now hahhahaa How about less weight on top of your head pressing your head down so less neck problems? Okie this is a long shot I admit.

It's hard to imagine a helmet that ventilates better than my Pneumo. When I take it off after a 1.5-2 hour ride I have patterns in my hair from where the air flows in.

Ah to have hair to have patterns blown in! I have a Giro Gila, rated excellent by a Consumer's Report feature last year. I don't know the weight, but I can't imagine a helmet adding a full mile per hour unless you are wearing a U.S. Army helmet now!
