I've been riding a carbon bike (C'dale Synapse Carbon) for the past year or so and miss steel. There's nothing wrong with my bike, but I just miss the ride of steel....so I'm thinking of selling my 'dale and getting either steel or Ti. Many of the frames out there have the option of carbon stays (seat, chain, or both). Is there any reason to get a frame with carbon stays, or are they just marketing? Of course I'll try both styles to see for myself. My gut tells me if you're gonna get steel or Ti, then get steel or Ti and enjoy that ride. Wondered what others thought. Thanks!

The mix seems to attempt to have the shock absorbancy of carbon forks and stays with the strength of some metal in the main triangle. If vibration bothered me on my all steel bike I'd go for a shock absorbing seat-post.

you have to ride 'em and decide for yourself.

I think its a waste of money. Get all steel or all Ti
