Hi! I own the bike in the pictures below since 1995 when I was ten years old, so I've rode it 12 years and it still works fine, necessitating minor adjustments. I've never seen a frame like this since then. I've searched the internet and found nothing. The frame is aluminum with a very intelligent design that enables you to carry it by the chain stay, which is unconventionally attached to the down tube (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Annotated_bicycle.jpg to get a clear image of what i mean), just like a briefcase. Could you please help me identify this type of frame and the manufacturer. I live in Romania and I've bought it used from my uncle that used to bring used bicycles from Germany.

On http://www.spiderflex.com/riders.html there is a guy called Mark pictured with his bike that has the same slick design.

I don't know the name of the maker, but the design feature you're talking about is called an "elevated chainstay". they were popular in the late 80's- early 90's?. I used to have one then and loved it.

look for; nishiki alien, nishiki ariel, brave warrior, and I think yeti made one, as well as many others.

The frame you see on the Spiderflex site says Mrazek which is a Czech frame. http://mrazek.com/index2.html

Neat-O! A bikemaker who tripped while at a Dali/Picasso exhibition! Better than drippy watches too! :D
