Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Let's find me some rims...

I am looking for heavy duty rims. I have a pair of Weinmann Concave 522x (circa 1988) that I will end up using unless I can find the correct rims. I have looked at Sun rims and they seem to be fairly strong. I want something that will last as I am 305lbs right now. I used to ride the extremely heavy duty (and fairly heavy) Weinmann Concave rims (1.75" or 1.95" wide concave rim with stainless steel eyelets and machined sidewall). I would love to find another set of these rims. I am asking for anyone and everyone to help me find these rims.

These are the ones I have right now... They are fairly strong, but I would really like the wider ones.

i got some weinmann alloy 27x11/4 wheels at my favorite local bike shopand,they are holding up great. i took them back and,had them re-tensioned and,my wheel guy said they didnt need it.
i remember that they are from the weinmann safety line.
i think the model # is RM 19. but dont hold me to that. i got the complete wheel and he mounted my tire and,made sure it was true for me,for around 35 plus tax. SO far they are good strong wheels. i have maybe 500 or so miles on them at around 330 lb.

Velocity Dyads or Aeroheads will work great. So will Mavic MA-3s, A719s, and Sun CR-18s or RhynoLites(The RhynoLite is a very wide 700c/29er rim; good for running 700 x 32 and up)

I have some 26" x 1 1/4" (see pictures earlier in this post) Weinmann rims. I am specifically looking for the wider 26" from the late 80's to early 90's.

I have been considering the Sun Rhyno Lite, but if I can find the wide concave Weinmann I would like to use it.

I would be using this with a 2.1" or 2.25" tire.

You MIGHT get lucky and find some NOS rims of that model, but I don't think that particular rim is made anymore.

Those are a decent rim, what's the spoke count on them? That'll be the key.....

They are 32h and in decent shape for 19 years old. :D

I will if I cannot find these rims... I will be replacing the hubs as well.

So my search for the Weinmann rims has run into a brick wall. I have found zilch! If anyone has them or where I could locate them please let me know. Thanks.

How would one rate the Syncros Big Box rims?

I posted this long ago... I am not sure if I will ever find the Old School Weinmann rims again... I will keep looking. But I would like to say that I have a pair or rims/hubs that should keep me rolling for many years to some... See pictures below:

Shimano HG-50 (11-34t)
Continental Town & Country 26x2.1" Tires

Unfortunately due to emergency hernia surgery 3 weeks ago, I am not able to ride for a while. Probably 4 more weeks. I have let my boys ride it a little to feel like I have not wasted money on such nice wheels.

I can't wait to get back in the saddle...
