Any one know where i can get threading continued down the steer in the bay area. the fork is off a 55 and i
'm sizing it to a 52. Should not be a hard job but a i've been to four shops so far and they're all scared to do it. Every one in in the mechanic's forum say that it is super easy and cheap. I guess its coz of the major turn to threadless, so mechanics aren't dealing with this issue as much. Are there any old-timey shops that would have a good deal of experience with something like this?

Valencia Cyclery will do it. I've done one there before.
It's a real PITA for them because it take a lot of muscle, cutting oil, and enduring loud nails-on-the-chalkboard level squealing.

Mike the shop manager there is awesome!

Montano Velo in Oakland said they'd do it for me once, it's like $50 or $60 dollars I think though.
