Mountain Biking - sidi bullet 2 mega vs. dominator 5 mega fit?

Quick question if anyone has compared these two as far as the fit... your insight much appreciated.

I have been using Sidi Bullet 2 Mega for months and the fit is perfect, in size 43.

Today I received my new Sidi Dominator 5 Mega, size 43. They seem to be the same size when I look at the shoes BUT they feel much more tight, as in I can barely close them: the buckles are at the end of the straps and the velcros are only 2/3 of the way!

Of course it occurred to me that the Bullet may have accomodated to the shape of my feet a little, and that my left and right feet are not perfectly symetrical, so I have tested the Bullet and the Dominator on left and right feet, but the Dominator are clearly tighter.

Does it make sense?

Question: should I get them in 43 1/2 instead of 43? Basically I need them a little 'spacier' and perhaps a tiny bit wider, but not significantly longer.

No they should be so tight that bloodflow is prevented from the feet. It makes the heart more effective pumping blood to the legs and lungs.

You mean it's by design with the Dominator? Because indeed if I don't tighten them all the way like you describe then I can't close them, it's pretty much all or nothing. Much more predictable fit with the Bullet but I suppose not as efficient blood flow. Interesting.

Reviving an old thread because I am looking at the Mega Bullet and Mega Dominator, and wear the same size as you

I have the road Mega Genius lorica in 43, and while they are the best fitting shoes for me that I have found, I am on the way end of the straps and buckle.

I have not been able to find Mega Bullets locally to try, but have tried the Mega Dominators, and they fit fine, just like my Geniuses (end of the straps).

Do you think that I would fare and fit well with the Mega Bullets?
