I would rather have been asleep, but I was awake and felt it. It was the biggest one I've felt in a while. No damage or anything.

It woke me up. I felt it pretty good in Torrance, but not enough to keep me awake for ten seconds afterwards.

In Santa Clarita, I was awake, it started rolling, I waited to see if anything more was going to happen, then when it didn't decided to go to bed. I didn't realize how late it was.

Before I went to bed, I was curious how close we were to the epicenter, just in case someone else got hit a lot harder, so I Googled it. Found out it was in Chatsworth, and a 4.5, no big deal.

Van Nuys just figured it was another stolen 18-wheeler rumbling through town.

I'm dying to find out what for?My natural instinct forces me to run to the main entrance of the house for safety. I know it's dumb, but this is what I've been doing for all my life including countless earthquakes in Japan. :D

Are you going to be at the RB tonight?

Most likely...since I need to swing by Budget Bikes to pick up a tool I ordered, I'll be heading in that direction. I originally thought of doing GP.

The one Thompson linked to that happened last night.

I won't be able to do GP again until after September probably.

Brentwood, felt it. Always freaks me out... I'm all for these little ones, just relieving pressure for the big one.

OK, 4.6. Ho Hum. It takes a 5 to start killing a person or two. Yesterday I ws chatting with a biker who was cycling near the epicenter of the '89' quake that killed several dozen. He remembers the bike path in front of him rolling like ocean waves. Anyone got stories from being on a bike when a relatively big one hit?

I wasn't on a bike, but I was out walking my dog during the Whittier Narrow earthquake in the mid-80's. No rolling sidewalks. No "animal precognition" stories, as my Akita was blissfully crapping when it hit. I just grabbed on to a lightpole so I wouldn't fall over.

No...but I was driving on the 118 just before Balboa when Whittier hit...thought I had a flat...stopped and got out...saw the power poles still swaying...
When Northridge hit...the part of the 118 where I stopped in 87 was where it collapsed....that freaked me a bit...
