Framebuilders - Hemp

As some of you might be aware there is a calfee bike that has been made using hemp lugs and bamboo for the tubes. Very nice, very pretty but very hard to find info on...
so..
does anybody on this forum have the slightest bit of knowledge on how you can construct objects with hemp? I am guessing that the hemp will be shredded then sprayed or layered with a resin to be in effect a substitute for glass fibre.
Please if anybody knows of any research papers, companies that can give advice, friends of friends that I could email.. please get in touch!

I believe that the "lugs" are hemp fiber that are wound around the joints lashing the bamboo "tubes" together and then the lashings are impregnated with resin.

yea i saw this on "the green" on the sundance channel......vip is right.....they used long hemp fibers and i think they soaked them first in resin then wrapped them around..........then ground smooth.........the woman he made a bike for loved it, she does cyclocross or whatever its called...............not sure if you can spray shorter fibers
