For the cyclists in that video, I agree that the only way to keep them safe would be to remove them from the roads completely.
I think the best lanes shown there were the ones with the poles spaced about 4 feet apart give or take. Prevents cars from using the bike lane but allows the cyclists easy access in and out of the lane. The one with the slightly raised bump is not bad but could cause some problems for entry and exit.

These are exactly the type of cyclists that make up the majority of the commuters and riders I see.
Heck, in all those videos how many fast kitted up cyclists did you see?
Those regular folks are exactly the general population.

I don't care what they look like or how fast they are going, and to be honest, I didn't even watch the video but made the (possibly wrong) assumption that it was the same video I watched before. That video showed a bunch of cyclists trying to ride in bike lanes to the left and right of obviously left and right turning traffic then complaining about getting cut off.
