I am looking to buy a track bike for racing. Any recomendations for shops? Seems like a limited pick around here. Im looking for a specialty shop, atleast dealing with lots of track bikes. Any ideas?

Shaw's in Santa Clara and Cupertino Bikes deal with a lot of track bikes around here, AFAIK.

EDIT: for some reason I was thinking of the Colnago pista which, at $4000+, is hardly entry level. I'm assuming you are talking about the Bianchi pista.

Ive been using a rental. Problem is Im6'3 and the rentals are a poor fit. Im in San Jose, Ca.

Is Terry Shaw (of Shaw's lightweight Cycles fame) still teaching down at the Velodrome? He could fill you in exactly what would be a good purchase for you and where to get it. You could also try asking others down there where they got their stuff.
San Francisco has some excellent shops that `specialise' in track bikes and lots of 2nd hand stuff floating around. American Cyclery and Freewheel would definitely be worth checking out as they tend to have both intro and higher-end stuff. Oakland has Montana Velo which has lots of good stuff - http://www.montanovelo.com/

Yep Terry is dtill teaching. I went and talked with him last friday. He's building my wheels and advised me on a bike. So the bike should be here this week by wed and the wheels should be ready by friday.:D
