Who has completed the century ride and can give me some tips on the nature of the ride, and who is going to do it on September 15 of this year. I am expecting it to be my 1st Century ride, I have my long ride up to 60 miles, will have it up to 75 prior to the ride. At age 61 I am getting a late start for this sort of thing but I love to ride!:)

It's never too late to start. I don't know how it is in SI, but I frequently see folks in their 60's on some of the longer rides. I can't speak to the Misaligned Minds ride, but my general knowledge of the area is that this is a good place to do your first century. Not too difficult and I believe there is typically little or no wind at that time of year, though heat may be an issue. It sounds like you're already well prepared.

There is very little difference between riding 75 and 100 miles. Especially since this is your first century, you might actually find it easier because first centuries are exciting. Let us know how it works out and good luck!

If you're looking for an easy century in that geographical area, why not the Clarksville TN century on Sep 1? It's billed as one of the flattest, easiest centuries around. clarksvillecentury.com

I'm from West Viola, not far from Paducah. It's pretty flat around Paducah, too. Give 'em Hell, Mr. Boehne - and watch out for tractors.
