Foo - Anybody got passes to Interbike?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Of course, one more year that I can't go because of school. I'm lucky to even get the opportunity, but school comes first :(
I even mapped out our road trip (by motorcycle). ;)

I'm much more interested in meeting the people and seeing the new goods than test riding bikes in the stinkin' desert. And we've only got room for so many pairs of clean undies with the Goldwing. So we're just going to Vegas. If I decide to risk bringing the laptop, I'll have bike porn on my blog each night.

That's a long ways for a guy who mostly likes old bikes to go. Maybe when we recover from tuition bills. :o

Yeah but when someone who likes old bikes goes to something like this, it makes them appreciate their bikes even more!
Make sure you get passes to the Sinclair Imports party. Always the highlight of the show (at least for me). My wife manages a bike shop so I always get a pass to the show. I think the longest I've spent at the show is a little over 1/2 a day. That was the first year I went, when Interbike used to be in Anaheim. Last year, I was at the show for an hour. I like bikes but I get bored walking around looking at all the bike stuff, most of it is unobtainium any way since I'm going to ride what my team gives me. There are always a couple of cool things to see. I usually just see bike people but that would be cool to see Rodman.

You've got a point, but I don't think I can swing it this year. :(

Good for you, I mean not cause I'm <cough> involved with a local college - but the first few weeks are crucial for your class. I've seen students in trouble basically travel from one receptionist to another till they whine/bully their way into seeing a counseller to say that they have only really missed one class day due to sickness, and then the family emergency took over, etc - and then they are asked if they called the professor - perhaps try to take the class another time, get a green slip etc and they dont and then it doesn't work anymore.
Good for you in treating school as No. 1.
I've seen some remarkable success stories - where a person, homeless basically sleeping from someones couch to couch - she was desparte when she came in to register - or try to register - she didn't think she could qualify for a school loan - and school houseing - and she did - became a peer leader - graduated on the deans list and I still remember her face when she found out she got the loan - she actually glowed with happiness. And I'm sure with her attitude she will be successful wherever she goes - her aim was transferring to a 4 yr school, not sure what major.
Again good for you.
OK, back to bad Tude. :)

You must mean Dennis Rodman... He was also married to Carmen Elecktra for about a day or so too.
Apparently, all the cool bloggers will be meeting there too.

BTW, most people don't wear undies w/cycling shorts:rolleyes:.

Most people won't be wearing cycling shorts at the Sands either. But space will still be at a premium for us. We'll only have so much room for clothes, cameras, laptop, etc.

Bootleg is not for the timid. Even a minor crash, on the easiest trails, can hurt you very badly. The trial might be easy, but one foot off the trail could be a major drop or very jagged rocks.
On Wednesday of Interbike, quite a few people will be limping around the Sands Convention Center with very fresh wounds.

And we have no way to transport our bikes there. So if I test out some fancy new rig and stack it, that leaves my wife to try and pilot an 800lb motorcycle with me on the back.
Bootleg Canyon was on my list of places to ride, but we've got plenty of great trails where I live, and the lifts at Sundance are only 20 minutes away.

We really should have some forums get together. Any other bloggers going to be there? Who else is going on a media pass?
Richard just wants to see what kind of nut I am in person, then we'll go get some free beer somewhere.

Nah, I already know you're a nut. :D 600 miles on a Goldwing is the proof.
I'll email you my phone number. I'll be hanging with the Crooked Cog folks (Tim Grahl and gang), Jill Hamilton and Tim Jackson with Haro/Masi, Donna w/ Kryptonite, Carlton Reid of BikeBiz, Byron with BikeHugger and Dave Bernstein (the FredCast guy) at the Cycling.TV booth.

Ha! Your email was about 2 minutes off the one I got from Carlton. By the way, 300 miles at a time on the Wing is no big deal. And if you've been getting the same mail I have, you'll know to find me and my Aussie wife at Crumpler on Thursday, at 4PM. ;)

It was an amazing show!!!
I actually just walked in with my speaker pass from the Security Show, so noone stopped me. I felt like a kid in a candy store.
Felt: I have never seen so many bikes in one booth
Moots: Pretty Frames; nice titanium packs
Time: New pedals, an amazing TT bike
Fulcrum, Mavic: the best wheel displays
Sidi: Ladies shoes with Pink trim, especially for Siu!
Merlin: I had an organism
Campy: Prettiest reception girl; nice catalogue
Selle SMP: Red Carbon Seats!!!
it just goes on and on and on...I wish I didn't have to go...
I just won a sweet light from Light & Motion. I'll have to wait to get home for blogging, as my laptop has issues.
