Foo - Everything you ever wanted to know about BF...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
(and any other online forum) from a sociological perspective. I haven't read through the whole thing, but it is pretty interesting:

I think Foo is a bit of an anomaly on BF in part because it doesn't have lots of "Answer People". This is more of a "discussion people" space. Thoughts?
Well, if I give you my thoughts, does that make me an "answser person"?
Ah! Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of science?
I am Arthur, King of the Britons!

Ya know, I really envisioned the head that goes on that jersey avatar is the one and only "Magic 8" ball.
What say you?
Should I walk outside and see if I can turn on the grill?
(grr wishing I was at work or on home computer cause I'd attach one to yer jersey no problem --- Bah! These people with no good graphics software!)
I am Arthur, King of the Britons!

Close, but you're in the same wrong scene that I was at first.
Glad we're getting the scenes sorted out :D
Now, does this count as "discussion"? :p

Probably not. When I attempt discussion, I usually get ignored. :p :D :o

I dunno.
That's an answer.
Does that make me an answer person?

The article left out "damned fool" and "irritating troll" as social roles.

Troll was there. Damned fool...they'd have a very tiny little array of interactions, I'm guessing...

Yeah, Merton was in there. Wrong Merton though. The article quotes RK Merton. We of course are more familiar with the work of WTF Merton.

The question is, is Bailey an answer person? Does he start conversations, or does he only respond to them? And are his responses terse or verbose?
Edit: Weird. Could have sworn this was posted right after 2manybikes's post.

That was never five minutes. And an arguement is not the automatic gain say of anything the other person says.
