I brought this up a couple months ago, but at the time I didn't know what the problem was, I finally figured it out, now I need advice on what to do. In the wheel on the cassette side where the bearings are, there is, well was a circular piece it was very easily bent, that held the bearing in place on top of it was a washer type thing so I had never seen it. Anyway the bearing holder was twisted and broken. Now I am wondering if this peice can be replace or will I need a new wheel. It seems to me that its manufatured so that ring can't be removed and only came out because it was bent, but I could be wrong. So does anyone if that peice can be replaced or will I need a new wheel?
Axels can be rebuilt. All parts are replaceable. You don't have to buy a new wheel.

Are you talking about the thing which seals the bearings against dirt and water? Sometimes these ar metal, pressed in, sometimes plastic, and some have several bits to form a labarynth seal.
Mostly the metal seal should not be removed. It bends and distorts easily if you try to lever it off. One of mine is bent , but does press back onto the hub, and does not interfere with the rotation of the bearings, so I just leave it.
