An unnecessary upgrade--

or so a mechanic at my lbs told me. Best thing I've heard all week.
I was swapping out some cheap but perfectly functional old
Sakae CX cranks that were turning my wheels for a Sugino RD--
I started to ramble "this isn't strictly necessary but. . ." and he
laid down the gospel. I guess if I had purchased the crank extractor
and had done it myself I would be short this piece of wisdom.

How about a 455 SD in a Prius? Does that rule apply to that?
