Hello guys,
I always take the train from NJ into the City and bike everywhere. My only thing is that whenever I have to go into any of the other boros, I always take public transportation:mad:. I have to go into brooklyn this coming Saturday. I would love to bike my way there.
So can someone tell me (explain to me like I'm 5 years old) how I can get from somewhere around 30th st. & 6th Ave to Flatbush Ave & Prospect Place . Is there a bridge I can bike over? how do I get there? is this even possible? Will I be all sweaty when I get there? (I'm meeting some people there:D)
Thank you very much for your help.

Flatbush and Prospect, OK.
Get yourself over to Second Ave, take that downtown to where it ends at Houston but continues on as Chrystie St. Take Chrystie to the Manhattan Bridge at Canal St, go to the left when you get to the bridge and the entrance is at the corner with Forsythe.
At the end of the Manhattan Bridge is a 270 degree curve, take a right when you get to the street. Take Sands St to Navy street at the tow pound, go right on Navy and take this to Fulton St, about 1 mile. Left on Fulton, right on South Portland St and take it past Atlantic Ave/railyards to Flatbush, left on Flatbush 1 or 2 blocks and you're there.
Others will tell you to take the Brooklyn Bridge and go through Brooklyn Heights, but it is out of the way. Navy St has a bike lane too and little traffic. The Manhattan bridge is also more direct and you are less likely to have a tourist taking a picture while you are trying to get by.
The Manhattan bridge is a climb, as is Flatbush but you aren't on flatbush for very long. Also, if you have the time check out Prospect Park, it isn't more than a few more blocks and it is much better than Central Park. If you see a guy on a Kuota Kredo, that would be me. I have never seen another Kredo in the park.

Thanks a lot! Don't know if I'll check out Prospect Park that day, since I will be going there late but will def. check it out some other time once I get a feel for the directions. I'm sure I'll notice your bike if I see you, I'll say hi. Thanks again!
