2 more stages to go for Lance and # 5 will be in his pocket! I keep my fingers crossed that no accident will accurse while he's kicking everyone else’s A$$. I‘m so demn happy for the guy! :fun: :fun: :fun: What do you think, he got it or what?

From what we have seen, I think he will win it. Remember last year's tour? He lost the first time trial but he won the second time trial. I think he is going to do the same thing this time. He will win the time-trial and he is going to win it good. I believe that we have not really seen the last of him. It would more possibly be a really stressful Tdf since it is the 100th and many people wants to perform. Also, the many crashes could have taken a bit out of him. I believe however that he has well recovered and on his way to his 5th. What I wonder though is whether he will be in the TdF next year.

I read somewhere that only 2 or 3 other riders have ever won the tour at Lances ages so that is something to consider for next year, especially if some of his struggling (relatively speaking) this year is because of age.

If Ullrich, Hamilton, an some other key rivals are still on the upswing of their abilities, that would make for quite a challenge.

Meanwhile, I look at it this way. Six in a row would be great, but 5 at least puts him in first for consecutive victories and, I think, total victories. Just because he isn't alone in that position doesn't change that.

I don't see why he couldn't go for his 6th next year. He is what 32, I think. Jan is 30? Plus I would say he had a pretty good tour this year. Take away the back pain early on and the dehydration and who knows what the lead would be.

You are correct. Indurain won 5 in a row in the mid 90s.

Anquetil, Merckx, Hinault and Indurain have all won five.
