An hour up the motorway - Lake district - ride Hardnott pass :D
I ride out from Skem (best thing to do with it ) and ride circuits via Parbold, stoney lane etc
yep give us a bit more info to go on m8y..
im not far from u in Dukinfield and basicly (if thats what ur lookin 4) in 15 mins ride im out in the green in any direction - either towards Huddersfield/Sheffield or other way to Macclesfield..luvly countryside riding
Macc forest is ace for MTB...
Oldham way you must be able to get up around Bacup and th'hills o'er' top...
Depends on the time of day - I like cyling in central London before the traffic gets too bad. I get to Fleet Street before 7am
For road - there are some very quiet and idyllic lanes in south Cheshire. Specifically west of Nantwich and around Beeston castle area. Some of the roads are closed for bridge repair but up to cycles (bliss!). Also some great pubs.
I have cycled a fair bit in the Peak District & Cheshire, it is can be really beautiful there
I don't think the o.p is coming back, but anyway, Glossup to Sheffield on Snake pass is a fine ride and challenging.
