Triathlon - "Best" Sunscreen...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Its been done in other forums, but I guess not here...so lets have a go.
Well, what do you consider the best sunscreen for tri's? Sweatproof, water proof, one that does not make you sweat like a hog (me)...
I use Neutrogena "active" (SPF 45) it says breathable, but I still sweat buckets and it costs a bit too much...so I'm looking to upgrade.

I use the spray on coppertone spf 15 stuff, it works really well for me, except if I put it on my face- I overheat pretty badly then.
plus its easy to apply and I am lazy.
FWIW
I use the same stuff. The coppertone spf 15 spray. It's just so easy to put on. I've never really thought about sunscreen making me sweat or not as I sweat a ton regardless.

I sweat a ton one way or another, but sunscreen multiplies that by ooohh, say 1,000,000,000--I look at the bike and am dripping.
Many of the sprays, I have heard, will prevent burns but will not help reduce the risk of skin cancer. In Road Cycling VTBIKER posted a great thread on this topic. HERE. (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=314905&highlight=sunscreen)
SPF is just one element to preventing skin cancer. We should check the ingredient list to truly stay "safer."

I don't like the spray stuff - they seem to make me tan more than if I'm not wearing sunscreen, which makes me think they don't work all that well. I like Alba botanical's sunscreen, but they're kind of pricey. I used to like Ocean Potion, but those aren't waterproof.
All the sunscreens I've tried have made me feel like I've lost the ability to cool myself, with the exception of ocean potion. I'm also kind of interested in other sunscreens out there. Thanks for posting this!

i use 29 and Holding from Bath and Body works, which is part of their True Blue Spa line. i'm a guy, and you can laugh all you want because it smells like Lemon Meringue Pie, but i've tried almost every sunscreen out and this is by far my personal favorite...
i also liked Neutrogena Active until i tried 29 and Holding, and they actually use the same ingredients, except they use different concentrations. and i'm telling you, women at du's and tri's will start giving you 2nd and 3rd looks as you walk by, because they love the smell...
look into it... :)

I love this stuff. A little pricey (small tubes=$11,) but worth it.

I use Aloe Gator. The best thing about it is that it doesn't hurt when you sweat it into your eyes. I used to use Bullfrog. OUCH!
