Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Salt Lake City Bike Shops

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I’m looking for leads on bike shops that are FGSS friendly in Salt Lake City. I have yet to find one. Hell, I’m willing to drive 100 miles if needed. I was looking to check out the Redline 925, and all I get when I call the local shops is some RTARD “..uh, yeah, we gots sum uh that BMX stuff…”. I was told yesterday that the Fixed Gear "thing" is a fad and not to waste my time. Any help would be appreciated.

Try Cyclesmith up by the U of U. They don't have a huge selection of FGSS stuff in stock but they aren't complete a** holes like a bunch of the other local shops.
I don' think they carry redline but all in all they are a good shop.

Not necessarily SS/FG friendly, but I've always found the guys at Bicycle Center (a bit south of 21st and 700 E, by Pep Boys) to be nice and helpful.
There aren't any shops that are very SS/FG oriented. SS/FG bikes can't pay the bills. The bike collective has new fixed wheels, cogs, cranks, TT brake levers, Chrome bags and that kind of thing. The also have a QBP account and can order all kinds of stuff. My favorite shops are, in order:
Wasatch Touring (700 e and 100 s)
Revolution (7th east in Sandy)
Bicycle Center (what LtCmdrJoel said)
Wild Rose (in the aves, forget which street)
For any SLC folks reading this, if you want to know where I got the bags I'm selling in my sig let me know. The still have some left for a few bucks less than what I'm selling them for.
