Foo - man, i worked hard for that dollar!!

i know there are hungry and sick people around the world. people getting killed in wars, people dying and suffering for all types of unfair reasons. i get it.

BUT, i gotta say, the single most frustrating thing is when you put a dollar in a vending machine and..... nothing. no acknowledgment. no thank you. no response when you press, then punch, the keys. shaking the machine doesn't do anything. telling it to 'go to hell' doesn't even ellcit a response. just total and utter silence. it's not giving up that money and we both know it.

i feel defeated. and one dollar poorer. and much much angrier. i could have fed a starving child with that. :(

I hate the vending machine here. I put my dollar in and then make my selection and I get
"Out of Stock"

exactly. i'm the one who is hungry! the machine shouldn't be.

i think i was especially mad because i haven't had much to eat all day and i have a long train ride home. plus that was my last dollar bill. urg./

We used to shake the hell out of it till something came out. We usually got our money's worth :D

We have a 25 cent soda vending machine that we stock ourselves. There is a button titled "surprise" where the person who stocks it puts in what they want. One time it was cheap beer :eek: and another time it was seltzer water (ewwww).

One time the button was broken. The surprise was you don't get your soda. Or your money back.

I was *ahem* given expert counsel by a woman whom -by day- is a 2nd year undergrad who will, after completing her BS, go on to med school to become a full-fledged psycologist and relationship counseler.

As she is so busy, the best/only way to catch her for relationship advice (and I really needed help this time) is at her night job, which just happens to serve a pretty decent steak, let me tell you.

It was worth it. C'est la vie.
