Introductions - Intro

Hi everyone...thought I'd say hi and introduce myself. I'm a recreational rider in sunny CA having just ressurrected my bike from storage. It's been a blast...these days I seem to be living every moment for the next long ride...I'll confess I'm getting addicted to it. Looking to become wiser in the ways of the whole experience.

Yes...visited one of the threads previously without noticing the intros until only recently. Being in Kent, would there be much cycling traffic on 212th street?

Depends...Orillia comes down off I-5 with a bike lane, but forces cyclists onto South 200th instead of sweeping around the bend. But you can hook up with Interurban or GRT, and get back to 212th. There's no bike lanes, and very heavy, fast moving truck traffic between Frager Road and 72nd Avenue South. At 72nd (where Interurban crosses 212th) the sidewalk turns into a 'MUP'. The sidewalk MUP ends at East Valley, and I have never tried to go up the hill beyond Highway 167. It's easier to go the back way along 208th, north on 92nd Avenue South, then east again on 200th South.

212th/208th is spotty with bike lanes, at best. Let's just leave it at calling it 'challenging'.

Good grief...sounds too much like a maze at best. Must be quite the harrowing experience during peak hour traffic for those who'd commute. I'll stick to the scenic Lake Washington route. So how long have you been riding?

...and when refering to vintage...what's the oldest model the Vintage Bicycle Liberation Front's considered inclusive of it's interest?

The commute is made along back roads...Air Cargo Road to any of about three main arteries off the West Hill--north on International down to GRT/International; north on International to Southcenter to GRT/Interurban; straight across 160th to Military, down Claimjumper Hill to GRT/International. I don't commute during peak hours, and Lake Washington is not within my commute area, but CRT is quite scenic.

...and when refering to vintage...what's the oldest model the Vintage Bicycle Liberation Front's considered inclusive of it's interest?

The current oldest bike in the fleet is my 1979 Nishiki Pro.
