Can any of you scrounge up photos of you and/or your bike when you were a kid?

This is the only photo I found with my 1st bike (at least 1st bike I remember). This is the bike I learned to ride on (without training wheels). Sorry about blurry photo...it was only one I found with that bike in it.

My favorite bike I remember as a kid. Here is me with brand new bike (you can still papers wrapped to it) on Christmas (1983 I think).

I'd have to check with Mom, she has all the old pics.

I found this old polaroid a while ago (a little on the cracked side) and it made me smile all over again. I remember that Christmas morning... couldn't wipe the grin off my face! And the green corduroys with the patton (patent?)-leather shoes rocked!

I came home from Kindergarten on my 6th birthday (1979) and was eating my lunch at the kitchen table when Daddy came downstairs to get ready for work. (He was on afternoon shifts.) He asked me to come to the garage, he said he found this bike there and was wondering if any of my friends left it over. I was bewildered but I followed him out, and there I saw the most beautiful, wonderful bike I had ever seen. I kept looking at him, but he maintained his straight face and serious expression. (Mom and my Nona were hiding in the house peeking into the garage because they would have given it away.) I finally told him I didn't know whose bike that was. So then he said, "I guess it must be your bike, then. Happy Birthday, Sweetheart." That was one of the happiest moments of my life. I rode it until my a growth spurt at 12 forced me to get a new bike. I did all kinds of crazy things with that bike, but it took a licking and kept on ticking. :D

Heh, actually, it looks like both father and son have the exact same expression on their faces, but for different reasons.

I don't have any. Mom had all the pics in her storage locker that was broken into. Pics were among the stolen. :(

Both you and Siu had baby pictures stolen? That's terrible :(

Gee, I don't think any exist of my first bike (red), which I learned to ride in one afternoon without training wheels. My mom saved S&H Greenstamps to buy it. :)

My next bike was orange with a black trimwork, a "boy's" bike (yeah, I was quite the tom-boy). It had a black banana seat with orange trim, and handlebars a bit like those of matimeo's, with black grips. Brand? Can't recall. I seem to recall there is an early '70-ish pic of me, my brother, and my sister with our three brand-new bikes, but I think my mother has it.

The joyous look on your face is priceless. I've wondered if that was you in your avatar. I just love it...

Thanks, juliebeanpie :). I really like the picture... for me, it captures everything that's awesome about riding a bike (edit: well, ok, not *everything*, but I still feel like that when I ride a bike today :))
