Mountain Biking - Cannondale Caffeine 4SL

Hello, I'm new here, I'm from Belgium (Antwerp). After riding for more than 7 years with a C'dale F1000 I've thought it was time for a new one. Because I was really satisfied of the F1000 I've descided to buy a Cannondale again. It's a Caffeine 4SL. I've changed a few things, the heavy SRAM rear cogs has been changed with a lighter Shimano XT one, the saddle is a BBB BSD-08, the Fizik looks like a saddle bag, the Pro PLT seatpost is also new, the original one was from cannondale. I've also painted the stem red.

yes, in the manual I believe the mounting option he chose is called "face plant facilitator" ;-)

you take excellent care of your bikes. that F1000 looks to be in great condition

Definately lovely, but doesn't the neg rise stem throw your weight right over the front wheel? (perhaps followed by the rest of your body?)
You've got skills for sure, but even so..
The bar clamp makes it look even more like it's on upside down.

Cannondale hardtail headtubes are the exact same size regardless of frame size. Unlike regular frames where the headtube sizes vary with the size of the frame, the Cannondale frames are identical. This is because the Headshok only comes in one size as the internal springs, air and bushings are inside the steerer tube.

Sooo...for shorter people, they must use a negative rise stem. I'm rather tall, but have messed around with negative rise stems(by flipping my regular stem). Handling is a little more twitchy but you get used to the steerer tube and lockout being in your face.

I'm 6'4" meself, and I can easily picture flipping right over that bar going downhill or with slight front brake misjudgement..
Still reckon it's a little too negative, but hey, each to their own. If it works, it works.

It serves a dual purpose, actually. It's a "testicular rupture ensurer" too.
