Adison Group Ride

I was chatting with someone on a group ride last week, and she mentioned a ride on Monday and Wednesday around the adison area, off of Midway north of Beltline. Anyone know what she was talking about? I kinda zoned out, and forgot the exact location.

I never heard of a ride in that area but that sounds like a VERY dangerous place to be on a bicycle:eek: It's scary driving my car through that area at certain times. Are you sure they said Addison?

Yep, I'm sure. The REI tuesday ride just switched to their 'north' route that goes up that way. It's not too bad once you get through the first bit, but the first bit sucks enough that I really don't like the route.

It sounded like it was a 10 mile loop that was done multiple times, which would be fine since its so close to work, but not really ideal.

Midway @ Beltline is ranked as one of the most dangerous intersections in the NATION in the # of accidents that occur there yearly if memory serves. I wouldn't want to ride out there during the weekday. Personally, I'd head east a few miles and take a ride down the White Rock creek trail over that area any day.

You're a little far south... Sounds like the PBA Windhaven Hill Training route (http://www.planobicycle.org/pba/index.php?option=com_events&task=view_detail&agid=26&year=2007&month=08&day=13&Itemid=27) which is a 10 mile loop that is, in fact, done multiple times.

Yep, that must be it. I just said north of Beltline, not how far north :)

One of these days I'll make it to a PBA ride it seems.
