After smashing the frame on my Santa Cruz Blur, I am in search of a new FS bike. For a variety of reasons, my options are largely narrowed to a chooice between a 2007 Titus Moto Lite 2, discounted about $1500 off MSRP, and a very gently used 2006 Cannondale Rush 2000, whiich is a few hundred cheaper than the Titus. In my limited test rides I can't feel any difference. Any suggestions as to which one to go with and why?
I'm in my mid 40's and fit, but not an extreme rider.
Thanks

Both are quality bikes that should last. I personally like both but haven't ridden either extensively. I guess what I'm saying is if you don't notice the difference, choose based on color and price (or what ever additional criteria choose)...
I like Titus more! My friend cracked two Cannondale in 5 years.
Whoa. I didn't know there was a such thing as a Santa Clara Blur.

Both are very nice bikes.
Cannondale has experienced quality-control issues in the past and seem to have resolved them. I have a Titus MotoLite II in my bicycle stable and so far, so good with no notable deficiencies.

Are you on crack? The original post clearly said Santa Cruz.

off topic, but it seems, based on the reports of a few members around here. That Santa Cruz frame break easily?

BenLi, the good news is that the vast majority of people won't break any top-tier frames under normal mountainbike riding conditions.
true, but if machines that are marketed for Freeride or Downhill start breaking under the abuse it was marketed (and assumed to be designed) for, then I would be concerned about whether the lack of durability would trickle down into the less aggressive AM or XC trail bikes.

Good point. The only hedge against that is to avoid frames that have generated somewhat of a reputation such as Santa Cruz and Ellsworth. At the same time, if you have your heart set on them, they probably wouldn't be problematic. Your post makes absolute good sense.
